I think it is important becuase being able to speak the language allows those of us in "first world" countries to have a better understanding of hispanic culture and actually grasp what the effects are of globablization. -

Today this is the anglo-americain supremacy and tomorrow maybe the chinese and the spanish again. For the moment, I try to understant this 400 millons of people leaving in the South.
